Nouvelle: Section Anglaise
A special invitation from the Association
of Catholic Parents of Québec (APCQ)

The Association of Catholic Parents of Quebec APCQ) has recently voted to add an English speaking section to the 48 year old francophone association. The Association is welcoming all parents who espouse its mission and goals in order to serve Anglophone parents and families in Montreal and the province.

The Association’s mission is to inform parents, offer formation, and defend parental rights.  Another objective of the association is to ensure that Catholic parents have access to Catholic schooling for their children. Over the years the Association has organised seminars and conferences for parents, youth, families and professionals.  It has supported the Catholic Church’s stand on educational and societal issues in the media and through its own publication, Famille-Québec. From the beginning, the Association has promoted religious freedom in education. Recently it intervened before the Supreme Court in favor of Loyola High school's right to teach its own program of Ethics and religions culture which is compatible with the Catholic faith.

The English speaking section will have representation on the provincial board of the APCQ and will also be able to develop its own projects in harmony with the goals of the provincial body. The APCQ provincial board members look forward to the enrichment that the two communities will bring to one another.  All interested parents are invited to the APCQ’s General Assembly on the 24th of  May, 2014. For details of the meeting please see the APCQ website at: www.apcqc.net
